Instituto Superior de Agronomia, University of Lisbon (ISA-ULISBOA)

Instituto Superior de Agronomia is one of the 18 Faculties and Institutes which compose the University of Lisbon. This University, first created in 1288, has recently resulted from the merging of the Classic University of Lisbon with the Technical University of Lisbon. With its ca. 47,000 undergraduate students, it has a publication record of over 6,000 scientific articles per year.

Role and key persons: 

ESR12 will be principally supervised by Professor Ricardo Boavida Ferreira and hosted by Instituto Superior de Agronomia (50%) and ScreenWood, Lda. (50%).

Research facilities, infrastructure and equipment: 

The Disease and Stress Biology (D&SB) group, headed by Professor Ricardo Boavida Ferreira, Dr. Cláudia Nunes dos Santos and Dr. Sara Monteiro, operates at ISAULISBOA, at the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (New University of Lisbon) and at CEV/CONVERDE, SA (a start-up company). A wide range of equipments are therefore available, not only at the institutions which host the D&SB group, but also at the large number of both national and international groups with which the group holds permanent and long-term research collaborations.
